Biography

Hélène Cheval obtained her PhD in 2009 in Paris XI University, where she studied the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying learning, memory and synaptic plasticity in rodents. She then strengthened her expertise in rodents’ phenotypic characterization, using mouse models of Rett syndrome, during her post-doctoral experience in Edinburgh University (Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell Biology). Associate professor in the University Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI) since 2013, Hélène Cheval now works in the Biotechnology and Biotherapy team, where she contributes to the project aiming at identifying the repertoire of long non coding RNAs in dopaminergic neurons as well as its potential involvement in Parkinson’s Disease.
