PHILIPPE FOSSATI, AWARD WINNER OF THE 2016 HALPHEN GRAND PRIZE

Pr Philippe Fossati (UPMC, AP-HP), Institut du Cerveau – ICM team leader, was awarded on November 21, 2016, the 2016 Halphen Grand Prize from the Philippe and Maria Halphen foundation, for his work on depression.

In awarding the Halphen Grand Prize, the Philippe and Maria Halphen foundation wishes to reward innovation and scientific progress. This year, the jury awarded Pr Philippe Fossati for his high-quality research on studying and defining mental disorders, particularly depression, and based on a predictive and personalised approach. The award was presented by Professor Pascale Cossart, Permanent Secretary of the Academy of Sciences, and Maria Halphen, founder of the Philippe and Maria Halphen foundation.

 

One of the ideas guiding us in our research is finding how to prevent people from falling into depression. Our work is based on a transdisciplinary approach, which is made possible through the Institut du Cerveau – ICM, providing a rich and stimulating environment. – Philippe Fossati
